Holiday Park Hessen
Holiday Park Hessen - Hessen extends over an area of about 21,000 square kilometres, and is situated in the western part of central Germany. The landscape is hilly, which makes it well suited for hikes. At the same time, one can find a large-city atmosphere in the Rhine-Main area which includes parts of Hessen.
Holiday Park Hessen - The Rhine-Main area is a metropolis that encompasses five cities in three states: Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden, Offenbach, Mainz, and Darmstadt. Even though, over time, the five cities have merged together into one giant urban area, they have each kept their own distinctive character.
Holiday Park Hessen - Frankfurt is one of the few European cities that have grown taller – and the Commerzbank’s 259 metre tall headquarters is actually one of the tallest buildings in the world. Here you can find a large area with museums, a botanical garden, and of course plenty of possibilities for shopping. Rest your legs at a café during your trip and enjoy a glass of Appelwoi, Hessen's speciality drink which is reminiscent of apple cider. If you enjoy classical music then you absolutely must visit the Frankfurt Opera, which is amongst the best in the world.
Holiday Park Hessen - From Frankfurt it is not far to Wiesbaden, the state capital, which is built on the Rhine’s northern bank. About 2,000 years ago, the Romans founded a colony on this spot, which had an abundance of hot springs. The Romans have long since disappeared, but Wiesbaden is still famous for its hot springs and health resorts, which makes the town an excellent destination for wellness excursions.
Holiday Park Hessen - Darmstadt is particularly known for “Waldspirale”, a surrealistic residential building that does not contain a single square shape. Everything is different, right down to each door and window – and trees and bushes have been planted on the roof.
